6 DAYS | A MOUNTAIN BIKE JOURNEY ACROSS THE WESTERN ALPS TO THE MEDITERRANEAN
Nestled beneath the majestic Stone King—Monviso—the Queyras is a wild world of ancient Alpine villages, centuries-old fortifications and trails suspended between France and Italy. From the legendary Colle dell’Agnello, nearly 3,000 metres above sea level, an immense landscape opens before us.
This is where Sky to Sea TOUR begins: a six-day eMTB journey through the Varaita, Maira, Stura, Roya and Argentina valleys, following high-altitude singletracks, forgotten military roads and trails shaped by generations of people who crossed these mountains before us. From the silence of the Western Alps, we begin an almost endless descent towards the Mediterranean.
THIS STORY BEGAN YEARS AGO
Being here always brings back powerful memories. For three years, Stefano worked behind the scenes of one of the most fascinating mountain bike events in the world: the Stone King Rally. As FCI-UCI Gravity Race Director, he was responsible for overseeing the race on Italian soil, spending countless days studying these mountains, their trails and the invisible lines connecting one valley to the next.
Sky to Sea TOUR was born from that history, but also from everything that came afterwards: years of exploring, searching for connections and imagining a route that would begin beneath Monviso and end with its wheels in the Mediterranean. It is not simply a collection of great trails. It is a line that carries our memories, our knowledge of these territories and our own way of travelling through the mountains.
Today, we are ready to ride that line with you. Designed by us. Shared with you.

RIDE INFO // THE SKY TO SEA ROUTE ACROSS THE WESTERN ALPS
The Sky to Sea tour follows a line drawn south from Saint-Véran to Bordighera, linking valleys that appear close on a map but are separated by high passes, remote ridges and centuries of Alpine history. From the Queyras, we cross the Colle dell’Agnello into Val Varaita before continuing through Val Maira, Valle Stura, Val Roya and the wild mountains of Western Liguria.
Each stage has its own character. High-altitude singletracks and open Alpine terrain gradually give way to larch forests, ancient mule tracks, military roads and long natural descents. Beyond Colle di Tenda, the mountains begin to change: the air grows warmer, Mediterranean vegetation appears and the distant blue of the sea becomes part of the landscape.
This six-day guided mtb tour across the Western Alps combines demanding climbs with more than 21,000 metres of descent. Our vehicle support allows us to connect distant valleys, carry the luggage and reach the beginning of each stage without breaking the continuity of the journey. The riding remains at the centre, but everything between one trail and the next is part of the story—villages, food, languages and the gradual passage from stone to sea.

“Our goal is to add true value to your mountain bike holiday, offering a service tailored to every detail within a relaxed and safe environment.”
You’ll be riding with Manuela, Certified Liguria Region MTB Guide, and Stefano, Certified MTB Guide for the Piedmont and Liguria Regions and qualified instructor from the Federazione Ciclistica Italiana. We personally designed this route and we personally guide it. With two guides, a dedicated driver and no more than six riders, every stage can be managed with the attention, flexibility and professional safety required by such a remote Alpine crossing.
For Stefano, this journey is also deeply personal. For three years, he worked across these mountains as FCI-UCI Gravity Race Director for the Stone King Rally, learning the trails, valleys and hidden connections that shaped the race on Italian soil. Together, we carried that knowledge forward, explored new lines and created a route that reflects our own way of travelling through the mountains. Sky to Sea is not simply a tour we lead—it is part of our history, and we will be there to share every kilometre of it with you.
