The journey for our guests begins in Catania, but we won’t linger in the city chaos. After meeting the group, we will head straight to the slopes of Mount Etna to stay in a mountain refuge.
Surrounded by the silence of nature and the crisp high-altitude air, you will immediately begin to breathe the magical energy of the volcano.
It is a total immersion from the very first moment, designed to let you fully experience the soul of the “Muntagna”. Tonight, under a blanket of stars, our volcanic adventure truly begins as we prepare for the epic trails ahead.

LUNAR LANDINGS: RIDING THE SOUTHERN LAVA FLOWS
The real adventure begins today on the Southern slope of Etna. We will pedal through a surreal landscape of solidified lava flows and volcanic ash that feels like a moon landing.
This is where you first meet “Idda”— the “Muntagna”—feeling her power beneath your tires as we climb toward the high-altitude refuge. The silence of the craters and the vastness of the black sand will leave you breathless.
We’ll end the day at a mountain refuge, sharing stories around an “incandescent BBQ” under a sky so clear you can almost touch the stars.

FROM VOLCANIC PEAKS TO AEOLIAN SHORES: A SEA CROSSING
Etna North → MILAZZO → Lipari Island
The morning is dedicated to the wild North Side of Etna, riding among the “Vulcanelli” and ancient pine forests. But the adventure doesn’t end on the mountain: in the afternoon, we head to the coast for the crossing to the Aeolian Islands.
As the sun begins to set, we arrive in Lipari, the largest of the islands. You will be welcomed by its narrow, historic streets, white houses, and the vibrant atmosphere of the small port.
It’s a breathtaking transition from the black earth of the giant to the infinite blue of the Mediterranean Sea.

ISLAND SOUL: COASTAL CLIFFS AND CRYSTALLINE VIBES
Today we fully immerse ourselves in the charm of Lipari. We will ride along breathtaking coastal roads and technical descents that drop straight toward the turquoise sea.
The trail winds through prickly pears and the warm colors of the Aeolian earth, offering constant views of the nearby volcanoes on the horizon. After the dust of the trails, we’ll descend to the beach of Canneto, passing through the ancient fishermen’s village where time seems to have stopped.
We’ll end the evening at the small port among moored gozzi boats, sharing stories over a slow, authentic dinner.

VULCANO: FREERIDE ON THE MOON
Lipari → Vulcano Island
Today we take the boat from Lipari to reach the island of Vulcano. Here, you will truly feel the earth burning under your wheels.
You’ll ask yourself: “Am I on the Moon?” Among active fumaroles and the intense scent of sulfur, we will experience an insane freeride suspended between the mineral yellow of the craters and the infinity of the Sicilian sea.
It’s a raw, powerful landscape where the heat of the ground meets the salty breeze. After this out-of-this-world experience, we’ll sail back to the comfort of Lipari for the evening.

THE VOLCANO’S FIRE: WATCHING THE EARTH COME ALIVE

The morning is dedicated to a half-day ride on the wild ridges of Lipari, enjoying the last views of its towering cliffs and turquoise waters.
In the afternoon, we leave the bikes to be transported to Pandora—or rather, Stromboli. Its wild and primordial soul is so incredible it must have inspired James Cameron.
We will change perspective here: a guide will safely accompany us to its slopes to admire the Sciara del Fuoco under the starlit sky. Watching incandescent matter slide toward the sea is the most powerful reminder of how alive this earth truly is.

DREAMING OF VESUVIUS: THE GREAT CROSSING
Lipari → Milazzo → Palermo // The Night Ferry
Today we leave the Aeolian islands behind for a great sea crossing. After the ferry to Milazzo, we drive across Sicily to Palermo to board the night ship to Naples.
As we sail through the Tyrrhenian Sea, we leave the black sand of the islands to start dreaming of the Vesuvius.
We’ll wake up in the heart of the Neapolitan Gulf, ready to meet the “Children of the Volcano” and face the legendary trails of the mainland.

THE HEART OF NAPLES: CHARM AND RECOVERY
The ferry docks in Naples at 7:30 AM. After days of intense riding, it’s time to settle into our apartment and soak up the city’s wonders. We will spend the day exploring the historic center—a UNESCO World Heritage site—and the magnificent Piazza del Plebiscito.
We’ll enjoy a stroll along the stunning seafront, gazing at our “giant” from a distance while recharging our energy. It’s the perfect moment to experience Neapolitan culture and prepare for the final challenge. Tomorrow, we climb Vesuvius!

VESUVIUS: THE NATIONAL PARK EXPERIENCE
The Grand Finale
The grand finale is a full-immersion experience on the slopes of the giant. We start our ascent via the historic Strada Matrone, where nature and history intertwine in a breathtaking landscape. As we reach the top, we will visit the Vesuvius National Park and its legendary Great Cone, a place of raw power and stunning views.
The adventure continues with an epic descent through the wild trails of the Valle dell’Inferno (Hell’s Valley), riding through volcanic pine forests and discovering new trails born from the ever-changing nature of the volcano. To end our journey, we return to the heart of the city for a well-deserved “Caffè del Professore” to feel the true heartbeat of Partenope.
