This allows you to experience a deep, rugged mtb backcountry tour in the Alps, conquering high-altitude ridges and technical loam before plunging straight toward the coast. We’ve expertly curated every single day to give you maximum vertical drop, local hidden gems, and premium support from start to finish.

RIDE INFO // The Ultimate MTB Trip from Finale Ligure to Nice
Azur Tour Extended is a five-day guided MTB journey through the mountains of western Liguria and the French Riviera. Starting in Finale Ligure and finishing in Nice, we follow natural singletrack through forests, rocky ridgelines and medieval villages, crossing from Italy into France.
Along the way, we ride around Molini di Triora, Dolceacqua, Sospel and Peille. Each area brings a different character: forest trails in the Argentina Valley, stone paths linking hillside villages, and rocky descents overlooking the Mediterranean.
Our dedicated shuttle takes care of the longer road climbs and carries your luggage between overnight stops. There is still pedalling along the way, with technical trails that call for confident riding. Two certified guides accompany the group, offering personal support throughout the journey.

Manuela lives and guides in Finale Ligure, while Stefano lives and works in Dolceacqua and knows the surrounding valleys inside out. These are the places we call home, and sharing them means more than choosing the trails: it’s knowing the villages, the people and where to stop along the way.
On our longer journeys, two guides ride with the group, giving each rider more personal support and keeping the days running smoothly.

TOUR DETAILS // SKILL LEVEL
Skill Level: Intermediate / Advanced
Is this tour for you? This tour is for riders who are comfortable on natural S2–S3 trails and ready for five consecutive days of varied enduro riding. Expect long days, technical sections, substantial elevation changes and constantly evolving terrain as we journey from the Ligurian Riviera across the wild border valleys to the French Mediterranean coast.
Bike Type: Full-suspension enduro bike (150mm+) or eMTB. We recommend having your bike serviced before the tour so you can enjoy every stage with confidence and peace of mind.
Vibe: A border-crossing enduro journey through hidden valleys, medieval villages and remote mountain landscapes, with the Mediterranean never far away.
The Riding: Natural singletracks, rocky technical sections, forest trails, exposed ridgelines and long, rewarding descents. Each stage reveals a different side of the Ligurian and Maritime Alps, from Mediterranean terrain and ancient mule tracks to the wilder trails of the Italian–French border.
The Support: Two guides, a dedicated driver and vehicle support throughout the tour. We transport your luggage, manage the daily transfers and connect each riding area while preserving the continuity of the journey. With no more than six riders, support remains personal, flexible and focused on every member of the group from Finale Ligure to the French Riviera.
TRAVEL & LOGISTICS

Meeting Point: The tour begins in Finale Ligure. The exact meeting location and time will be shared with participants before departure.
Getting Here: The most convenient international airports are Nice (NCE) and Genoa (GOA). We will be happy to provide travel information and help you identify the most suitable option for reaching Finale Ligure.
Daily Schedule: Expect approximately 6–7 hours out on the trails each day, including breaks.
Guided Tour: The entire journey is personally guided by Manuela and Stefano, with a maximum of six riders.
On-Tour Vehicle Support: Our support vehicle is used exclusively for the technical and logistical requirements of the tour, including bikes, luggage and the execution of the planned itinerary.
End of the Tour: The journey ends in Nice. Participants may continue their journey independently or request assistance in arranging transportation through an authorised provider. An additional night in Nice is not included.
PRICES & BOOKING
➜ Tour Price: €1,610 per person for 6 riders // €1,810 per person for 5 riders.
Group Size: Minimum 5 riders required to confirm the departure // Maximum 6 riders.
Accommodation: 4 nights in carefully selected accommodation, based on shared double or twin rooms.
Meals: 4 breakfasts and 2 dinners are included.
Single Room Supplement: Available upon request for an additional fee.
What’s Included: Two professional MTB guides — Manuela and Stefano — riding with you throughout all five days, with a maximum of six participants. Four nights’ accommodation, daily breakfasts and two dinners, daily luggage transportation, a dedicated driver, shuttle support during riding days, and technical and logistical support throughout the journey.
What’s Excluded: Travel insurance, bike and equipment rental, lunches, 2 dinners, drinks and personal expenses. Travel to Finale Ligure and onward travel from Nice are not included. The tour ends in Nice. Return transportation to Finale Ligure is not included and can be arranged on request at an additional cost.
Booking & Payment: A 30% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place. A reservation is confirmed only after the deposit has been received. Registrations close and the remaining balance is due 30 days before departure.
Tour Confirmation: The tour requires a minimum of 5 riders and will be confirmed no later than 30 days before departure. If the minimum group size is not reached, the tour will not operate and the 30% deposit will be refunded in full.
Cancellation Policy: The 30% deposit is non-refundable, except if the tour cannot be confirmed because the minimum group size has not been reached. For cancellations made more than 35 days before departure, the deposit will be retained. For cancellations made 35 days or fewer before departure, a cancellation charge equal to 100% of the total tour price applies.
Booking Changes: Requests to transfer a booking to another suitable participant or to move the booking to another available Trails Unlimited departure may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Any change is subject to availability, approval by the tour operator and payment of any administrative fees or additional costs charged by accommodation providers and other suppliers. A change of participant or departure date is not guaranteed and does not create an automatic right to a refund.
Travel Insurance: Appropriate travel insurance is mandatory. The policy must provide specific coverage for mountain biking, medical treatment, personal accident, emergency rescue and repatriation. We strongly recommend including trip cancellation and baggage cover.
The travel package is organised in collaboration with SIAM Viaggi, our licensed Italian tour operator. The complete contractual booking conditions will be provided before payment.

At the end of the tour, you may continue your stay on the French Riviera or return with us to Finale Ligure.
ACCOMMODATION: The tour includes 4 nights in carefully selected local accommodation, based on shared double or twin rooms. If you prefer a single room, please request it in advance. A supplement applies and availability may vary.
FOOD & DIETARY REQUIREMENTS: Daily breakfasts and 2 dinners are included, giving you the opportunity to discover the local flavours of the Italian–French border region. If you have any allergies, intolerances or specific dietary requirements, please let us know when booking so we can coordinate with the accommodations and restaurants.
ON-TOUR CARE
HEALTH PRIORITIES: Your health and safety on tour is our top priority.
LOCAL ADVICE: You should always consult your own doctor or physician before travelling to new countries to seek their advice on health matters abroad.
VACCINATIONS & WATER: No vaccinations are required for visiting our tour areas. While tap water is generally safe, we recommend bottled or filtered water, which will be readily available throughout the trip.
MEDICAL CONDITIONS: Please let us know if you have any special food requirements, allergies, or pre-existing conditions your guides should know about.
TRAVEL INSURANCE (Mandatory): As a condition of booking, you have to be insured against medical and personal accident risks. Your policy has to explicitly cover mountain biking. We also strongly recommend coverage for trip cancellation and baggage (including your bike).
FINANCIAL TIPS
CURRENCY & CASH: The local currency is Euro (€). While cards are accepted in cities, cash is essential for remote mountain huts and small bars.
ATM MACHINES: ATMs can be found in the main towns along the route. We suggest carrying some cash, as smaller villages, mountain refuges and local businesses may not always accept cards.
TIPPING: Tipping is not compulsory in Italy. In cafés, bars and restaurants, rounding up the bill or leaving a small amount for good service is appreciated but entirely optional.
